I found a game that is too hard. What can I do?
Nothing is ever lost — after a round, tap "Try an easier level" on the results screen, or choose any unlocked level from the game's start screen. There is no penalty for replaying.
Why is there no timer?
By design. Braintone is meant to be relaxed — take as long as you like on every question.
The app reads instructions aloud. Does that need internet?
Most phrases are built into the app and work offline. Only occasionally, if a phrase has no recording, does the app connect briefly to generate the speech.
How do I switch between Chinese and English?
Tap the globe button at the top of the home screen or inside any game. Your choice is remembered.
Will I lose my progress if I reinstall?
Yes — progress is stored only on your device to protect your privacy, so reinstalling starts fresh.
The music or sound effects are too loud / quiet.
Use the two buttons at the bottom of the home screen (or the top bar inside a game) to turn the background music and sound effects on or off independently.
